Basic Photography Lesson
Hello, everyone.
I have been telling you stories about my exploits in Okinawa, Japan through a JICA Training on the Application of Multimedia for e-Education last November 2007, right?
This time, I will share with you my experience in the Basic Photography lesson I had. I felt that I was the weakest link in my class. Not only that it was my first international training experience, I, also, have not been exposed to handling multimedia equipment(s) in the office other than the LCD projector. While my colleagues were at ease with the coursework it was, likewise, their nth time abroad.
The good thing was the class started with the theory that I was comfortable with. The discussion started with the instructional design framework, rubrics, legal bases, etc. and I have not been bothered at all. But, it was during the application where I was stricken by panic. In the Basic Photography lesson, for example, I got starstruck with the lessons - I have to shoot on RAW, understand the exposure, narrow aperture was best for wide-angle shoot, checked the ISO before shooting, etc.
I am so excited but, OMG, how could I tell them that - back home, I have never owned a camera and have never touched one!
Later, I was issued a camera that was so expensive that I was so afraid to touch for fear of breaking. I was so young and so stupid. Every day was a struggle. Thank goodness, my classmates and instructors were so approachable and kind to help me with everything about the camera. To be frank, the cellular phone with a camera was not yet as popular at that time as it is today!
Until I got used to using a camera and becoming to love it. I was so enticed to using one that after I got my allowance, I bought two cameras for my wife and me - Canon IXY Digital 91015 which was very popular at that time.
Allow me to share with you some of my shots in the broad daylight at the Tropical Beach, Okinawa City, Japan.
Currently, I was assigned as the focal person for the selected and talented illustrators at the Department of Education, Philippines. What a twist!
